Press Release on Future History Anxiety | September 30th 2021
Dear Everyone,
I know the future seems harrowing, for those under the age of 40 our future holds worsening floods, endless heatwaves, and a rising ocean perhaps devoid of fish.
I know it can seem hard to deal with the present when the future is so uncertain. For me this has often led to anxiety where I start shaking uncontrollably and avoiding the things I know I should be doing. I'm not judging you for your worry nor am I judging myself for my aprehension.
Unfortunately the future will come soon enough, and if We the Younger are destined to take over leading this world we can't just berate the old over their failures to act. We need to find our vision of the future that we want for our great great great great great grandchildren. We can't stumble into power grumbling over what should have been done 38 years ago because we didn't take the time to make a plan ourselves.
And so as much as I don't want to be President of the United States of America because of the early mornings and late nights of stress and responsibility I will have to endure, I will promise You the People that because my ascension to the oval is inevitable I will try my best to reason through what we need to do in the future rather than just what is wrong now.
Sincerely,
Jefferson Thomas
P.S. Please don't vote for me.
