October 14th, 2021 | Infrastructure

Dear Everyone,

The gears of Politicking keep churning as Your leaders argue amonst themselves over whether they should spend a couple trillion dollars or a few trillion dollars on a massive social spending package.

All the while they put another Trillionish dollars for infrastructure on the back burner. All this raises the question over whether throwing more and more money at the current system is a good use of growing our debt.

With the Republicans threatening to let us default on our current debt I think we need to use our credit as a nation wisely. I would think the leaders of this nation would be taking a little bit more care to spend money in a way that builds a new foundation for this country over the next centuries.

I think these bills both have good provisions, from childcare funding to money to aid our ailing electric grid. My only question is is it enough? Shouldn't we use this inflection point in world history to build the nation we want our great great grandchildren to have rather than merely putting band-aids on the problems of our predecessors vision.

When I am President, I will be listening to the American People to Refound a vision for what We the People want America to be. Then we will commence the 3rd Continental Congress and do it.

The glaciers are leaving, so I'm just saying shouldn't we also abandon rush? Instead of short termism I am asking for patience and ponderance. Solutions are fleeting and ineffective when you don't take the time to truly consider the scope of the problems.

To put it all more simply, You shouldn't vote for me because I am not interested in what we should do for tomorrow, I'm interested in what we should do for the next century. In fact, my first year in office I will mearly assess the situation here in the United States of America. I will travel around the nation social media posting beautiful pictures of my hair at military bases and national parks all the while meeting with leaders and workers of the vast bureaucracy I will be in charge of.

So please don't vote for me. I don't want to sort out the mess we've wrought so that we may be better prepared for what comes next.

Sincerely,
Jefferson Thomas
