October 22nd 2021 | The Present

Dear Everyone,

To quote myself: Get lost with the Present.

It's a quote I use to remind myself not to get stuck in the past or fret too much about the future. A gentle nudge to lean into whatever is happening right now.

Sometimes that means leaning into the uncomfortable thoughts and emotions I would prefer to avoid. Sometimes that means letting go of my worry and enjoying the site of a bunny running across my gaze.

Getting lost with the present has become harder as we are drawn to everything else with the magical rectangles we carry everywhere. When we can get lost in anything or anyone else, the draw of our present becomes harder to find contentment in. Comparison is the enemy of joy.

And my Present right now does not breed much confidence. My quest to stop myself from getting elected President while moving is moving quite slowly. If I hope to get the majority of Americans not to vote for me I need to figure out how be a little bit more interesting in my attempted cancellation of self.

Anyway, this lack of decisiveness and questioning of self is exactly why I shouldn't be President. A President should want to be President and I do not. It's a thankless job that no one is qualified for. Don't vote for me, you have a vote.
Sincerely, JT
